RICH-WAY LANDSCAPE, INC. CAPTURES NATIONAL RECOGNITION WITH THREE EXTERIOR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPROVEMENT AWARDS

ALCA’S Environmental Awards Program reflects the association’s commitment to creating and preserving the beauty of our landscape. The program is designed to reward landscape contracting professionals who execute quality landscaping projects and to recognize citizens who underwrite such work. In sponsoring the awards program, ALCA also strives to increase public awareness of environmental improvement through quality landscaping and to encourage the landscape contractor’s consistent use of quality materials and workmanship.

The Grand Award was presented to Rich-Way for their landscape design and installation of the Southern Living Idea House. Sponsored by Southern Living Magazine, the home and gardens were open to the public for three months. All proceeds were donated to a nonprofit organization in Collierville, TN. Over 30,000 home and garden enthusiasts passed through the exhibit. It is easy to create ordinary gardens, our task was to create an extraordinary garden. Southern Living describes the project as “A landscape to live in”, and “small space, big impact”.

Rich-Way Landscape received an Award of Distinction for the McLellan Residence. The design, with all its parts, has a strong emphasis on order and relaxation with therapeutic qualities. In keeping with precise symmetry and detailing of the residence architecture, the spa, pool, fireplace and arbor are arranged on axis to allow for focal accents. Strong linear bed lines add to the total unifying design, a design of comfort and simple symmetry in a courtyard setting.

The Roney Residence also won an Award of Distinction for design and installation that satisfied the client’s request for an integrated backyard living area. Design elements included swimming pool, spa, pool house, shaded sitting area, side entry garden and path, and connections from lower terrace to upper pool area. The completed project is an outdoor haven for Dr. and Mrs. Roney and their three teenage sons.
